How James Hervey Relates to the
Heresy of Decisional Regeneration

James Hervey (1714-1758) is notable as the writer that spawned a lively debate between Robert Sandeman, John Wesley and himself over the nature of saving faith. It is ironic that Sandeman, in condeming Hervey's approach to salvation, provided the best record of how first generation New Light Calvinists dealt with seekers. Hervey is also remembered for his literary works.
