When New Light Calvinist ministers used the word "stupid", they meant "not aware of the activity of the Holy Spirit". This lack of awareness could be voluntary or involuntary. Most of the time New Light Calvinist ministers meant that the person was voluntarily stupid, or voluntarily resisting the common grace of the Holy Spirit. Of course, saving grace is not resistible, so New Light Calvinist ministers would never say someone was stupid because they resisted saving grace.
